Welcome
to the Clearing House Mechanism of Saudi Arabia |
|
The Saudi Arabian Clearing House Mechanism (CHM)
of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was set up in accordance
with Article 18 (3) of the Convention to form a system of exchange
of information on biodiversity matters and to promote and facilitate
technical and scientific cooperation, both at national and international
level, in implementing objectives of the Convention.
Conservation
of biological diversity and the sustainable use of the resources
of the Earth are enshrined in Islamic law and principles. It is
therefore fitting that in 2001 the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia became
a signatory to the Convention on Biological Diversity that seeks
to ensure the conservation of species and their habitats for all
time. The CHM of Saudi Arabia aims to offer extensive information
on the Convention and the decisions of its bodies, as well as on
its implementation progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . It
is also designed to provide an easy access to appropriate scientific
and technical information on the status of and the latest trends
observed in biodiversity in Saudi Arabia , and bring you in contact
with the experts and organizations involved.

| The
National Focal Point of CHM in Saudi Arabia is the National
Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD),
which hosts and administers the CHM web site.
Your comments, suggestions and proposals are most welcome.
All
interested in receiving and willing to exchange the information
